Do I need an exclusive website for my
holiay home business?
Having some sort of internet presence
for your holiday home rental is a
no-brainer! Even by the UK tourist
boards conservative figures, over 60%PRCTG% of
people use the internet when booking a
holiday. In reality, it is probably far
more. The real question, therefore, is
whether to create your own website or
use a well known portal to drive the
internet side of your holiday home
business.
There are compelling arguments for both.
Certainly, you are never going to get as
much traffic on your own property
website as the big property listing
sites. Finding a suitable holiday home
and booking online is huge business and
the big players attract tens of
thousands of daily users to their sites.
However, therein lies the downside. The
big property listing sites are just
that, big! And your holiday home is
hidden amongst the rest, just one
property in the midst of an excess of
others returned in the search results.
Conversely, if someone is browsing for a
holiday rental has found your website,
with just your property on then there is
no competition. Providing you be easily
contacted, or better still, the user can
book your property online and pay a
deposit instantly then you are ten steps
ahead of the crowd!
Of course, the difficult part is
attracting the surfing public to your
holiday home site (and then keeping them
interested). All too often, I have
clients for whom we build a great
property website and they instantly
think it is going to start appearing in
the search engines. We all know this is
unrealistic, unless you'e one of only a
handful holiday home website in your
location (very unlikely these days
unless you rent out your own island -
not unheard of). To get anywhere near
the top of the searches takes focus (on
certain keywords), time and a lot of
hard work.
The best strategy, in our opinion, is to
use make intelligent use of the listing
sites to drive custom to your own
website and property booking system.
This way you are getting the exposure of
the big sites, you have your very own
property showcase and online booking
system, and you are not losing out on
the booking commission that a listing
site would take if you booked using
them. We have a few guidelines on how
you can effectively combine listings
with your own site:
Choose - choose the listing sites you
apply for very carefully. Investigate
how many properties they have listed. If
they boast 50,000+ properties then do
not list. If they will not give you a
link back to your site, again, don't
list. If they demand booking exclusivity
of your property or if they charge an
exorbitant commission, once again, do
not list. Ask for website traffic
statistics - you want sites that
generate a lot of traffic but have
manageable number of properties listed.
Location - Try and get listed on sites
that serve your area. You are far more
likely to get quality referrals on
popular sites for your location than on
general holiday home booking sites.
Alternatively, target your property
type; you could be an exclusive villa?
Track - install tracking code like
Google Analytics and monitor closely the
referrals and bookings you get from the
property listing sites. If the sites are
not generating bookings, do not renew
your subscription.
Link - make sure you get a link from any
sites you list with. Not only will this
directly funnel visitors to your
property booking site, it will improve
your own position in the search engines.
Pay - do not be put off if you have to
pay for a listing. A one year
subscription is more than likely only a
fraction of a week's holiday home
rental. But remember to follow the above
guidelines: don't go for a big listing
site, try to specialise either by area
or property type, or both.
Bookings - it is all about bookings!
Make sure you invest in quality reliable
booking software and that it is fully
integrated into your site. Having your
own booking system with availability
calendar is invaluable, the benefits are
too numerous to mention.

properties for himself and others for
over 15 years. He currently works for

choosing-the-home-business-thats-right-for-you
Choosing the Home-Business That's Right
For You
Starting down a new career path can be
both exciting and terrifying. There are
a lot of tools on the market that can
help you determine what type of career
field you should enter. But what if your
chosen "career path" is being an
entrepreneur and running a home-based
business? Do the rules change? Below are
five questions to ask yourself to help
you determine what type of business
might be right for you.
1. What is your passion?
Answer this question with the first
thing that comes to mind: If money were
no object and you could do anything,
what would you do? You might have
answered "be a writer", "speak at
conferences," "bring my product idea to
life" or any number of things. Whatever
your answer, this most likely is your
passion. I challenge you to take the
time to ponder this and see if there is
a way to bring your dream to fruition.
2. What types of things did you like to
do as a child?
Many times the toys and games we loved
as children give us a glimpse into who
we have become as adults. If you loved
climbing trees, you may now be an
"outdoorsy" type of person. Think about
how this might be incorporated into your
business. For instance, you might enjoy
setting up outdoor birthday parties for
children or selling herbs from your
backyard garden.
3. What type of products would you be
interested in representing?
If you're looking in the direction of
direct sales, whether that be your own
product or an established home-based
business option, you need to think
through what types of products you'd be
comfortable presenting to your
customers. Take the time to do some
research and find a product that truly
excites you. Your customers will see
your sincerity and that can sell a
product just as easily as a fancy
presentation.
4. What skills and experience do you
bring to the table?
If you've left the corporate world in
favor of working at home, you've
undoubtedly brought with you a set of
skills. There may be a way to market
those skills in a new way and turn them
into a profitable business. For
instance, if you were an executive
assistant you may be able to type 80
words or more per minute. You could set
up shop as a Virtual Assistant and help
other business owners in processing
orders, transcribing documents and much
more.
5. Are you thinking outside of the box?
Most of us have a fear of the unknown.
We many times assume that if we haven't
done something before it is simply out
of reach. This carries over to the
business world as well. We take our
products or services and market them in
the same way that we see other business
owners using. However, it can be much
more effective to find new and
innovative ways to market. One
home-based business owner I know sells
stuffable toy kits. Instead of using the
usual home parties and birthday party
events, she works almost exclusively
with children's hospitals doing
fundraisers. She makes a great living
and helps not only the hospitals, but
the children as well. She is a great
example of unique marketing and
overcoming the mundane marketing methods
that so many business owners resign
themselves to.
Your home-based business should be
unique to you. It should make you want
to get up each morning excited about the
possibilities of the day ahead. Take the
time to thoroughly think through the
questions above and you'll be on your
way to making a great, well thought out
decision that has your name written all
over it!

5-strengths-of-a-good-home-business-leader
5 Strengths of a Good Home Business
Leader
You just recruited your first person
into your work from home company. You?re
excited, she?s excited and you both want
to hit the streets running. Awesome!
But, how do you know if you?re a good
leader or not?
There are 5 strengths every good leader
possesses. If you don?t have these
strengths I strongly suggest you learn
them. Yes, leadership can be learned.
You don?t have to be a natural born
leader to be a good leader. As a matter
of fact, I know some natural born
leaders who aren?t good leaders at all.
(That brings up the question of whether
or not they are really leaders then. We
will leave that for another discussion
however.) I know, I know, get on to the
5 strengths already. Okay, here they are
and you need them to be a good IPC
Program leader.
A Good Leader is a Leader
I?ve heard the saying: ?If you?re
leading but no one is following, you are
just taking a walk.? That is so true.
Have you ever seen someone who is in a
leadership position but no one is
following them? I?m willing to bet you
have.
Even some of the best leaders are not
natural born. They?ve had to learn
certain skills and what it takes to be a
leader. You can do the same. When you
lead people in the IPC Program, you are
actually teaching them, standing by
their side and serving them. Yes, I said
serving them. They will grow because of
your example. This work from home
business is all about team work.
It?s like teaching your kids. You can?t
teach your son to do the dishes if you
don?t ever do them. You need to stand
with him the first few times and do the
dishes with him. Then when he is ready
to do it by himself, the dishes will be
all nice and clean, rinsed, dried and
put away properly.
The same applies when you are in a
leadership position in direct sales.
Show your recruits how to do it and then
do it with them. Next, help them when
they first step out on their own. Yes,
it takes time and energy, but there is
no place better to invest your time and
energy than in helping someone else.
Trust me. It will come back to your ten
fold. Your work from home business will
excel beyond your wildest dreams if you
take this approach.
A Good Leader is a Good Listener
A good leader isn?t one who thinks they
know everything or who acts like she
doesn?t have time to hear what her
recruits or clients have to say. A good
leader is one team members can go to
when they need help with something or
assistance in fixing a problem. With the
IPC Program and any work from home
business for that matter, learning is
part of the game. If you quit learning
you quit earning.
A good leader also knows what to listen
to and what not to listen to. As a
leader of the IPC Program, you should
not encourage gossip or negative talk
about another person. You don?t have the
time or energy to listen to someone who
is a constant whiner and complainer.
You?ll need some discernment and will
also need to know how to politely turn
away from this type of talk.
A Good Leader is Available
A good work from home leader will make
time for their recruits and clients.
Some leaders have a set schedule for
seeing recruits, but they also know
emergencies arise and don?t get
disgruntled when they do.
Set your own schedule, but be aware that
your recruits will need you at times
other than those you specifically set
every once in awhile. Open your door and
help them when they need it most.
A Good Leader is Organized and Knows How
to Prioritize
This is not only true in a work from
home business, but it is also true in a
leader?s personal life. You?ll need to
realize your family is most important
and how to balance family and business.
If you do not know how to organize and
prioritize your business and personal
life, don?t worry. There are tons of
materials out there that can help you
with this part. Look on the Internet or
in your local bookstore for starters.
A Good Leader Doesn?t Let Obstacles
Stand in the Way of Goals
In other words, you?ll need to know how
to overcome obstacles or work around
them. Also, don?t let negative people
stand in your way. You should know how
to block the negative and absorb the
positive. Believe me, when you are in a
work from home leadership position, you
will hear it all. Some of which you
don?t want to hear, but have to just
because you?re the leader. Filter out
the bad and keep the good. Don?t let
these obstacles stop you from reaching
your goals.

from home package and need a leader to

There is a ton of information available on leadership
qualities. Get some books, attend classes and learn from
someone who is a good leader in your personal life, like
your pastor, a teacher or sales director. Good leadership
can be learned, you just have to be willing to study it.

Work Part Time From Home For MORE Money
- 3 Key Steps
With the exploding use of the internet,
it is very easy to work part time from
home yet earn more money than you did
working full time. However, there are 3
things you need to understand.
Unless you have been in a coma for the
past 18 months, you would have noticed
that the entire world in recession, the
severity of which hasn't been seen since
the Great Depression of the 1930's.
You more than likely know someone who
has lost their job and perhaps, you are
also in the same situation or are
worried about the future likelihood of
something happening to your job.
Over the past few years, and
particularly over the past several
months, thousands upon thousands of
people have discovered that they can
stave off the spectre of the looming
recession and create for themselves
ongoing, multiple streams of income
using the internet.
There are literally millions of ways to
generate a level of income from home
part time, that in a lot of cases, soon
surpasses the amount of money that was
previously being made in that person's
full time job.
However, once you start researching for
ways to make money online, you soon get
bombarded with an avanlanche of
information. Just a simple Google search
for "part time work from home" will
bring up literally millions of search
results (148 million in fact, I just
checked!)
So where do you start?
1. Get into a Winning Mindset
The first step to successfully making
money online is to get into the winning
mindset. I know it sounds corny, but
trust me on this. There is an
over-abundance of information out there,
that it soon starts to get overwhelming.
There are also a lot of misinformed
sceptics moaning about how it's
impossible to be a success online (and
funnily enough they all failed to be a
success themselves).
There are a number of books you can
download for free that will show you how
to get into the right frame of mind. The
most popular ones are the classics
"Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill
and "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen.
2. Do Your Research - Choose A Market
Sector
Once you have digested these books and
have committed yourself to success, do
some research on the what sort of
internet business you want to be
involved in, whether it affiliate
marketing, article writing, ebay, etc.
Just take your time and learn what you
can about each of the various market
sectors. Soon you will come across a
particular internet business or idea
that you are interested in and can be
passionate about.
One of the best ways to ensure that you
have the best possible chance for
success is to try to incorporate your
skills or interests into your chosen
internet business. Use your passion from
something you enjoy from another part of
your life to be driving force behind
your internet business.
3. Choose A Mentor
It has been proven time and time again,
by literally thousands of people, that
it possible to be successful online. The
techniques and strategies that they use
to generate their income have been
proven to work.
So of course it stands to reason,
therefore, that one of the best ways to
be successful in this business is to
align yourself with a person or group
who has achieved the success that you
are aiming for.
Again, you will need to do your
research. Try to find a mentor that is
honest and easily approachable. They
should be easily contactable by phone,
email or skype, and you shouldn not have
any problems finding their names when
you do a Google search.
Do some research on the product or
service they are selling. If you find a
lot of information out there, it means
that there is a lot of demand for it so
it is more than likely worth pursuing.
Be wary of anyone who asks you for money
up front or is doing the hard sell all
the time.
An honest mentor will only ask for your
first name and email address so they can
send you more information or a free
gift. They will usually provide you with
all the information you need to make an
informed decision on whether their
product or service is something you
want.
But like anything, choosing the right
mentor all comes down to a few key
things. Do you like them, can you relate
to them, are they willing to help you
and can they deliver what they are
promising you.
So, that should give you something to
think about if you are considering
getting online to generate some income.
But again, try not to get too
overwhelmed. The key is to keep
persevering. In fact, the main reason
why people fail to make a success online
is simply because they gave up.
You will be surprised how quickly you
will be able to get online and create a
presence for yourself on the internet
and start generating some income. You
never know, one day it may be you that
people are turning to for advice because
of your success!

home-based-business-the-paradigm-shift
Home Based Business: The Paradigm Shift
It seems that over the past few days
there have been a couple recurring
themes in a number of conversations and
meetings. As you can imagine the economy
has everyone wondering what they can
expect in their future, especially in
the area of finances. Closely following
that a large number of people are
looking at Home Based Businesses and
Network Marketing for the first time in
their life.
Here in lies the challenge, as for many
of these people the only life they have
ever known had a job as a major focal
point. Life for these people has changed
for a number of reasons:
- There are a uncertainties as it
relates to their employment or they are
newly unemployed
- The loss of income due to financial
investments rapid decline
- Increased expenses as a result of
rising interest rates
- Etc, etc
While the simple fact that these people
are entertaining the thought of Network
Marketing business opportunities
represents a paradigm shift, they really
have little understanding of the journey
they face.
Let?s start with the fact that many of
these people have been working in jobs
that were very process driven and as
such these individuals have become very
comfortable with routine. Now these
people are going to pushed pulled and
knocked out of their comfort zone in
ways that they never imagined.
If these people have not been in some
type of sales role they are going to
deal with more rejection in a week than
they typically had to deal with in a
year of their previous profession. Oh,
don?t forget about the fact that now
they are in a sales role without many of
the skills/habits typically associated
with sales professionals: Follow-up,
Prospecting, Qualifying Prospects, and
the all important Closing skills.
Anyone that has been in the Network
Marketing profession understand that all
of these new business owners will
magically have all of the prospects that
they will ever need based on their list
friends, family and colleagues. Any one
that has spent the time and energy in
Network Marketing to achieve a
reasonable level of success still
remembers getting through their list
only to discover that most had resulted
in rejection. Now if there is any hope
of success, they must start to truly put
a prospecting system and process to work
in their business.
With computers and technology as the
major backbone for many people building
a Home Based Business there is a large
number of people that find themselves
having to use their computers and cell
phones in ways that they never dreamed.
The simple act of making a 3-way call
for team support when talking with a new
prospect becomes the source of stress.
With webinars becoming a major
prospecting and training tool many
people are finding that technology is
not always their friend.
What do all of these challenges really
mean?
Work and a lot of it is what this new
business is going to require out of
these new business owners. The good news
is that any with the determination and
discipline to stick with their new
business, has a wonderful opportunity to
provide financial independence for their
family for years to come.
Like anything in life there will be
those that pick up these new skills with
little to no effort. And, there will be
many (I qualify for this group) that
regardless of how quickly they are
advancing it will not be fast enough.
Struggle, will be the theme for yet
another group of these new business
owners. However, regardless of which
group you fall into, patience will be
required and I urge you to simply
measure yourself against your goals and
no one else.
Find a mentor that has been down this
path, understands what is required to
achieve success, is willing to work with
you, hold you accountable, and in the
end ease the learning curve. While a
mentor can do a lot to help your achieve
the success that you are searching for,
there is no one that can do it for you.
The important part of building your
fortune is the journey. If you have
never had the opportunity read ?Think
and Grow Rich?, by Napoleon Hill, I
would highly recommend taking the time
to do so. He talks at length about why
even though on the surface having a
fortune handed to us would be nice, the
natural laws of our world have proven
that will be a short lived success.
Starting your Home Based Business is
going to challenge you in ways that you
never expected, but there really is a
fortune that waits for you at the far
end of the journey. You will experience
a major paradigm shift if you truly plan
to build your business and in the long
run you will be able to look back at
that shift with fond memories. To Your
Success!

Starting an Answering Service Business
With the current economy and job market,
many qualified individuals are now
without a job, trying to figure out
their next step. At-home businesses are
on the rise, offering advantages of
being a business owner and working from
a home office. One such option is a
home-based answering service business.
Numerous studies have been conducted
specific to this opportunity showing
that of all in-home businesses, a
telephone answering service is among the
most lucrative and easiest to establish.
With an answering service business set
up within the home, people can earn as
much as %150,000 in annual revenue.
This type of business can be operated by
one individual and with incredible
success. On the other end of the
spectrum, smaller businesses needing
remote customer service enjoy the many
benefits associated with someone who
offers live phone answering services.
This type of service might seem simple
but the impact it has on a company?s
success is significant. After all, a
small company is in tight competition
with larger companies, those that have
more money and therefore, more
capability for handling customer issues.
If the person who runs an answering
service business can provide the smaller
company with professional support, an
order taking service, or even disaster
recovery services, the small company now
becomes more competitive.
The problem for most small business
owners is that they spend the majority
of their time handling sales,
accounting, and dealing with on-site
issues. For these people, the added
cost to have someone in the office
full-time, whether during the day or
after hours is beyond the budget. An
answering service business established
as an in-home office is more cost
effective while still being the
lifeblood of the company by ensuring
customers are taken care of in a
professional manner.
While there are many incredible
opportunities for the person who wants
to start an in-home answering service
business, the group of business owners
that gain the most would be anyone
on-call 24 hours a day. For this
reason, people starting a business such
as this should market the services
toward doctor?s offices, tow services,
heating and cooling repair people,
apartment complexes, plumbers, and
electricians.
People in general are tired of making
phone calls after hours only to be met
with a voice recording advising that
multiple buttons have to be pressed and
directions followed before a message can
be recorded. Once the message has been
left, the caller has no guaranteed when
a return call will come. With answering
services, callers are greeted with a
friendly and professional live person
that can answer questions, provide
information, make suggestions, or take
messages to be passed on immediately
TeleMessagingUSA provides professional
answering services to companies looking
to improve their customer
communications. TeleMessaging USA has
been providing telemessaging and
business answering services to
businesses for more than 15 years and
provides after hours, weekends, holiday
and peak answering services.

Home Based Business ? Direct Sales vs.
MLM
If you?ve been looking at home based
businesses for any period of time, then
you have no doubt come across the terms
multi-level marketing (or MLM for short)
and Direct Sales. These are the two
most common business models for home
based businesses. But do you really
know the difference between these models
and which one is right for you? While
there are many differences, we?ll
explore 3 key ones here.
Payment & Profit
When starting your home based business
you?re looking to earn maximum profit as
quickly as possible. Now that sounds
like a fairly obvious statement. Yet,
one of the key differences between
Direct Sales and MLM is when and how
much you get paid.
In an MLM business, your commission is a
small percentage of your overall sale,
typically somewhere between 6 ? 9%PRCTG%.
That means if you made a %4000 sale,
your commission would be about %280.
The reason your commission is so small
is because in an MLM the sale is being
distributed amongst many people
throughout the overall organization. In
a Direct Sales business, typically the
majority of profit from a sale goes to
you, and can represent about 50%PRCTG% of the
overall sale. So, the same %4000 sale
would net you a commission of about
%2000. Remember, it?s the same amount
of work and effort to make the sale, yet
the MLM the commission is %280 and the
Direct Sales commission is %2,000.00.
Now let?s look at when those commissions
are paid to you. In most MLM companies
there can be a lag time of anywhere from
20 to 25 days to receive your check once
you complete a month?s worth of work.
This means, if you made a sale in the
first week of the month, you would have
to wait until the end of the month, plus
an additional 20 ? 25 days for the check
to reach you. That?s as much as six
weeks! In Direct Sales, typically the
products are purchased directly from you
meaning that you are paid today for a
sale made today.
Sales Quotas
Another major difference between MLM and
Direct Sales companies is quotas.
Typically in an MLM company, you are
required to purchase products each month
to maintain a certain volume.
Additionally you?re required to have a
certain number of distributors in your
downline who are also purchasing
products. Anytime either of these
numbers are missed, then you risk losing
your commission check for that month.
It?s possible to have a scenario where
you maintain the correct volume
throughout the month, only to have one
person drop out of your organization
just before the end of the month causing
you to miss out on a that month?s
commission check.
In most Direct Sales organizations,
there is no quota. You?re compensated
on your actions when you make sales and
don?t have to rely on a certain number
of people being in your business in
order for you to get compensated on the
work that you do, regardless of what
that is.
Residual Income
So this leads us into the conversation
of residual income. As we discussed,
MLM commission checks are notoriously
small per sale, which means you are
heavily reliant on work other people do,
which means you have no choice but to
recruit a large downline in order to
build any ?reasonable? check. No matter
how much you do, if they don?t build,
you?re doomed to a small check. This
means you?re more of a babysitter than
business builder.
Additionally, don?t believe that once
you?ve built up a sizable commission
check that you can just ?retire? from
your MLM business and live off that
residual. The minute you step away from
your MLM business (even if it?s for a
month) your business starts to dwindle,
and that?s because you?ve removed a key
component ? you. Once you?re leadership
and motivation is gone, so does the size
of your commission check. And get this;
it goes a lot faster than it took to
build.
In Direct Sales, you?re paid large
commissions, you?re paid right away, and
you?re paid for the work you produce.
You have an opportunity to invest those
large commissions anyway you see fit to
continue to grow your income. It?s
called an exit strategy and it?s
something you can do a heck of a lot
quicker in Direct Sales than you could
with an MLM. Once again, it?s your
business on your terms.
Choosing to have your own business is
infinitely better than continuing to
work a job. But how soon you can quit
your day job and retire from your home
business is entirely dependent on which
model you choose. If you?re looking for
maximum profit and complete control over
your financial future, then Direct Sales
is absolutely the way to go.
