Running an Errand Business
The Errand business is a great home
business idea for two simple reasons, it
is easy and simple to start and secondly
it requires very little capital. So if
you have been thinking about a home
business idea why not go ahead with this
type of business.
Today the work atmosphere is highly
charged; with 9 to 5 jobs that often
extend well into weekends most people
are left with little to no time to take
care of chores and errands. Things like
dropping off mail or parcels, buying
groceries, picking up laundry, dropping
off video, taking the care for servicing
or a wash etc. are just some of the
things that eat away into weekly offs
or weekends. Most people would rather
lounge around and catch up with family
and friends.
That is why there is a growing section
of the society which does not mind
paying people to take care of tasks that
they don?t want to waste time over. This
is where you come in.
As the owner of an errand business it
will be your job to run errands for your
clients. The scope of your job of course
is entirely your decision. Before
getting into this business, you might
want to decide in advance what services
or errands you are willing to run for
your clients. Also you will need to
decide if you want to run errands for
people or for businesses and
corporations.
What You Will Need
The most important requirement in this
business is transportation. Since you
never know where all your errands will
take you, self or personal transport is
a big plus. Also a two way communication
is essential so you may want to invest
in a pager, a cell-phone a land line
connection with an answering machine to
take orders when you are not around.
Although this business can be run from
both home and office, a little private
space like an extra room or some garage
space is ideal.
Pricing
The pricing policy in this business is
defined by the following considerations
? Area of operation (center of
the city or the suburbs)
? Demographics
? What the competition is
charging
On an average the going rate in the
errand service business falls between
%15 and %20 and upwards per hour.
You?re Target Market
Although you can expect to be running
errands for all kinds of people, the
highest instances of revenue will be
generated by corporate sector and the
more affluent classes who can easily
afford to shell out money to get their
errands taken care off.
However some other areas from where you
can expect business are dry cleaners,
post offices, banks, department stores,
video shops, grocery stores, among other
places of business.
Bizymoms has been helping women start
work at home businesses for over 10
years. It is easy to start an Errand
Business with their work at home
business kit that includes everything
you need to get your Errand Business up
and running.

answering-service-as-a-viable-and-low-investment-home-business
Answering Service as a Viable and Low
Investment Home Business
The ubiquitous and almighty telephone
has been a part and parcel of our
existence for almost a hundred years.
First there were strictly mechanical
telephones served by nosy and
inquisitive operators who would often
listen in on party lines and chime in
whenever they felt like it. Then came
the touch tone telephones with first
nationwide and then international direct
dialing service. We live in a cellular
age today in which a phone can
practically do everything for you except
book breakfast. A lot has changed since
then.
Setting up an Answering Service Business
at Home
There are hundreds of home based
business ideas that tend to stay afloat,
some with major investment and others
with little or no upfront investment. An
answering service falls in the latter
category. Until as recently as two
decades ago, establishing and operating
an answering service business involved
an investment to the tune of thousands
of dollars. This was primarily because
there was no caller ID service in those
days and if you wanted to provide a
personalized greeting to your customers,
you would have to work closely with Ma
Bell and arrange for additional
equipment and services. Moreover, there
was keen competition from companies that
provider beeper services?a service that
was aggressively promoted within the
medical profession. Today, you can set
up your own answering service home
business for less than a hundred
dollars.
Answering Service from Start to Finish
You don?t have to be a Rhodes scholar to
figure out how to set up your own
answering service home business. All you
need is a telephone with caller ID that
is integrated with a phone book. You
should invest in two such phones one of
which needs to be a cordless phone.
Your investment in both telephone
instruments won?t exceed %100 tops. A
little competition analysis, some
advertising that lands your first
customer, and you are in the business of
running a home based business.
Dual Service Model for Customers
Answering service companies usually
offer two service models. In the first
model, customers are billed on a monthly
basis for a predetermined number of
calls. In the other model, customers pay
as they go on a per call basis. You
should offer both models since some low
volume customers are sure to graduate to
high volume status which is when they
will begin subscribing to a monthly
service plan.
Customer-friendly Schedule that does
Justice to you
So that you do not have to entirely
surrender your independence, offer your
service initially as an ?after office
hours? service, between 5:00 PM to 11:00
PM. Greet every caller warmly, jot down
the message and communicate it to your
customer. You can give them the option
of either a phone call or a text message
in order to communicate the message. If
you have a personal computer,
transmitting the message via e-mail is a
third option.
Home Business Logistics
Your phone instruments should be located
in a separate room far from the din of
television and other audible
distractions. Carry your cordless phone
with you when you feel like rushing to
the refrigerator for a quick late night
snack. Telephones have a canny tendency
to ring at most inopportune moments.
The Drudgery of Paperwork
You will also need to organize your
accounting, billing and invoicing. Be
regular and ask for a small initial
deposit in order to protect yourself.
Like every type of business, home based
businesses too take time to blossom.
Remain both patient and persistent,
advertise regularly within your
community and hopefully, some day, you
will be able to transition to an
impressive official set up that will
make you and your family proud.

internet-business-is-for-everyone
Internet Business Is For Everyone
The internet has made it possible in
these trying financial times for people
all over to supplement their income
without ever leaving their front door or
even getting out of their pajamas. The
secret is out and more people are
jumping on the bandwagon but because the
work from home opportunities is so vast,
many find it difficult to choose one
best for them. While it may seem
appealing to dive into home business
opportunities such as owning an online
store or affiliate marketing, many feel
more comfortable completing concrete
work for companies who pay them directly
for services rendered rather than take a
chance owning their own company.
People are finding that they can use the
same skills that they use at work
outside the home to bring in a paycheck
while working from home. In doing so
they have opened up the door to freedoms
in the following ways:
? Making their own schedules that suit
them and their family's best. Not having
to worry about rushing out the door to
get the kids to school and themselves to
work or even calling out when one of the
kids gets sick and suffering from the
short paycheck as a result of the time
off.
? No more astronomical daycare charges
or the guilt that comes with leaving the
children with a stranger to rise.
? If working from home to supplement
their full-time income, they don't have
to spend even more hours away but
instead can still make some extra money
all the while being a presence in their
family's lives.
And they're performing services for
companies and individuals such as data
entry, software IT assistance, rebate
processing and most popular now, writing
and blogging for pay. Why not make money
doing something you already love to do?
Companies are in constant need of online
content to promote their sites and
generate traffic; blogging is only one
of the ways it's done.
Article writing and product reviews are
2 more commonly sought after services
and don't have to be difficult to find
jobs for. Doing a search about freelance
contractual work will no doubt bring up
popular sites that connect those in need
of content with those willing to be paid
to write it and lots of times when using
these sites, it's common to find long
term work. What could start off as a
temporary position could very well end
up full-time.
It's imperative to research any company
you're thinking of working from a home
base for to be sure that you aren't
dealing with one of the millions of
scams that are out there. Scams are so
common that there are sites dedicated to
exposing each and every one of them.
Simply search a scam exposure site such
as SCAM.com and type in the name of the
company for which you're thinking of
working and if they aren't legit, you
will find out then.
The power of technology has expanded our
earning potential in so many ways in the
recent years. Get your piece of the pie
and start working remotely from your
home towards a better life for you and
your family?

Start A Home Business In Affiliate
Marketing
Affiliate marketing has been a hot
online business for many years and many
have taken advantage. Affiliate
marketing is a great way to start a home
business and can begin with devoting a
little spare time each day till things
take off. One factor which separates the
professional from the novice is the
ability to get the sales and diversify
between many different but related
programs.
Affiliate sales are simply selling other
companies products independently and
collecting a commission for each sale.
Commissions vary from product and
industry but real money can be made.
"Super Affiliates" have been known to
make over %50,000 a month from a single
affiliate program. These "super
affiliates" understand a couple basic
concepts that many seem to miss.
To start a home business in affiliate
sales one needs the ability to sell to
visitors and sell different items. Many
affiliates make the mistake of just
throwing up some affiliate banners on a
worthless page and only one product from
one merchant. This is a conversion
killer and no affiliates make the big
bucks in this manner. People use the net
to gather information and entertainment
on what they are searching for, in order
to be a successful affiliate the your
first job is to supply the demand. When
someone uses the net to search for
information on Caribbean cruises they
are not looking to find a page which has
a picture of a cruise ship and a big
"Click Here To Buy A Cruise Trip," but
somehow this is what so many affiliates
do. Think about it, if you were looking
to take a cruise vacation would you
blindly click on some link you found
online and book the trip?
Understanding the needs of visitors is
very important to an affiliate's
success. The good affiliate would
instead have a web site or section of a
web site devoted to Caribbean cruises.
The pages of the section would be filled
with information about Caribbean cruises
such as best places to go, best cruise
lines, tips for a first cruise and top
places to go on a cruise. The affiliate
would then make their recommendations on
these concepts by slipping in a small
link. The affiliate would also use only
affiliate programs which related to the
topics they are covering and that are
highly regarded affiliate programs to be
involved with. This means that research
would have been done to assure that the
products they are affiliated with are
top notch and top companies in the
industry. Failure to do this would mean
the affiliate is making ill informed
recommendations and unhappy customers
will not return or even will spread
negative instead of positive buzz for
the business.
Another important aspect of affiliate
sales are the need to diversify
affiliate programs. This means that just
joining one Caribbean cruise program is
not enough. Maybe some customers are not
ready to purchase the cruise vacation
but would enjoy a travel guide or book
on cruises. The affiliate recommends
their favorite books and guides of the
subject. Maybe a visitor already has
booked a cruise and is looking for
things to do in the areas such as scuba
diving lessons, dining and entertainment
in the places they will be visiting
along the way. The affiliate recommends
accommodations for the islands, scuba
lesson businesses and top rated
restaurants. The affiliate will now have
the multiple revenue streams coming from
related products and services on a
tightly conceived topical theme.
This makes it easy to start a home
business the right way from the
beginning. With the pages of the site or
sections being focused on topics which
web surfers are looking for and then
supplying the information they are in
demand of means credibility is being
established. Then as the credibility is
gained the visitors are willing to
purchase the recommended products and
services from someone they now believe
to be a reliable source. Picking the top
affiliate programs will assure the
customer needs have been met and they
will return as well as recommend the
site. By following this method and
avoiding the pitfalls many other
affiliate marketers fall into any one
can start a home business which will
work.

Easy To Start Home Business Ideas
One thing you must know is that most
things in life don't come easy.
You have to work hard at everything that
you do, and there are almost always some
kind of tie ups that make you wait
longer.
But that isn't always so when you are
looking for a home based business.
Here are some easy to start home based
business ideas...
Articles
Writing articles is at the very top of
the easy to start home business list.
Before you go on a freelance website to
find people who need articles written
for them, write some articles and post
them on a place like
AssociatedContent.com.
That is a great place to start and they
will pay you for the articles as well.
This way you have a link to give to
people.
Another good idea is to take the tests
on Elance.com that show your writing
ability.
If you score well, that is going to be a
big seller for people to buy your
articles. Once you have done these two
things, you can start looking for work
writing articles.
Videos
Another easy to start home business is
to make videos for people to advertise
their online businesses.
All you need is a movie making program
and some imagination. If you have
Windows on your computer, you can use
the program's movie maker software.
A good suggestion is to offer a couple
of people to make them a video for free
as long as you can use them as referrals
and as examples.
Selling Items on Craigslist
The last easy to start home business is
to sell your items on Craigslist.
If you have jewellery or other crafts
that you make, or you have things that
you just want to sell, you can start
posting your items on right away.
And Craigslist is free, so you don't
have to pay anything to list your items
there.
Each of the businesses listed above are
an easy to start home based business and
it doesn't require a lot to start them.
In the time of a week or two, you may
find that you are making money and doing
well with your new home business.
There are other businesses that are each
an easy to start home based business,
but the ones that are listed above are
some of the best.
A little creativity, a little posting,
and you will find that you are on your
way.

Taxes: Home Based Business Tax
Deductions
The majority of articles on the benefits
of a home business don't often talk
about the subject of taxes and how you
can actually save money if you have
knowledge of all the tax benefits
offered a home based business. Online or
off.
What most people are not aware of is
that even a small home business can
actually save you hundreds, even
thousands of dollars in tax deductions.
We all have to and should pay our taxes.
But as Ronald Mueller, MBA, PhD says:
"It's how much you keep that counts, not
how much you make".
Small Businesses Create 70%PRCTG% of the U.S.
Job Growth
Even a small part-time business can
qualify for more tax benefits than any
other category of taxpayer. As president
George W. Bush said "Small Business is
the backbone of the American economy".
These Are Legitimate Tax Breaks
1. Authorized by the U.S. Congress
2. Publishes in the IRS code
3. Approves by the Federal Tax Court
rulings
What Are Some Legal Business Deductions?
1. Business use of your car or truck
2. Cell phones and other electronic
devices
3. Business travel with family
4. Portion of your rent or mortgage,
repairs, home maintenance
5. Gas, electric, other utilities
6. Meals, entertainment
7. Computers, equipment, furniture
8. Marketing tools, supplies, meetings
9. Have your children or grandchildren
work in your business
10. Many other deductions are available
How Do You Qualify For These Tax
Deductions?
1. Have a legitimate home business -
consulting, child care, direct sales,
beauty salon, Internet marketer, MLM
2. Profit - show your intent to make a
profit, you do not actually have to make
a profit to take these deductions
3. Treat your business as a business,
not a hobby. Work on a regular and
consistent basis.
4. Document your income, expenses and
activity. Brief notes are usually
adequate
If you meet these four requirements, you
probably qualify for thousands of
dollars in tax savings every year.
Get Your Tax Savings Any Time of Year
You can put an extra %300 to %600, maybe
more in your take home pay. Just go to
your employers payroll office and
up-date your W-2 (based on your added
tax savings with a home business) to
increase your take home pay.
These savings are frequently enough to
pay for the start-up cost of your
business. To take advantage off all
these home business tax benefits consult
with a tax expert who is familiar with
home based business tax laws.

do-i-need-an-exclusive-website-for-my-holiay-home-business
Do I need an exclusive website for my
holiay home business?
Having some sort of internet presence
for your holiday home rental is a
no-brainer! Even by the UK tourist
boards conservative figures, over 60%PRCTG% of
people use the internet when booking a
holiday. In reality, it is probably far
more. The real question, therefore, is
whether to create your own website or
use a well known portal to drive the
internet side of your holiday home
business.
There are compelling arguments for both.
Certainly, you are never going to get as
much traffic on your own property
website as the big property listing
sites. Finding a suitable holiday home
and booking online is huge business and
the big players attract tens of
thousands of daily users to their sites.
However, therein lies the downside. The
big property listing sites are just
that, big! And your holiday home is
hidden amongst the rest, just one
property in the midst of an excess of
others returned in the search results.
Conversely, if someone is browsing for a
holiday rental has found your website,
with just your property on then there is
no competition. Providing you be easily
contacted, or better still, the user can
book your property online and pay a
deposit instantly then you are ten steps
ahead of the crowd!
Of course, the difficult part is
attracting the surfing public to your
holiday home site (and then keeping them
interested). All too often, I have
clients for whom we build a great
property website and they instantly
think it is going to start appearing in
the search engines. We all know this is
unrealistic, unless you'e one of only a
handful holiday home website in your
location (very unlikely these days
unless you rent out your own island -
not unheard of). To get anywhere near
the top of the searches takes focus (on
certain keywords), time and a lot of
hard work.
The best strategy, in our opinion, is to
use make intelligent use of the listing
sites to drive custom to your own
website and property booking system.
This way you are getting the exposure of
the big sites, you have your very own
property showcase and online booking
system, and you are not losing out on
the booking commission that a listing
site would take if you booked using
them. We have a few guidelines on how
you can effectively combine listings
with your own site:
Choose - choose the listing sites you
apply for very carefully. Investigate
how many properties they have listed. If
they boast 50,000+ properties then do
not list. If they will not give you a
link back to your site, again, don't
list. If they demand booking exclusivity
of your property or if they charge an
exorbitant commission, once again, do
not list. Ask for website traffic
statistics - you want sites that
generate a lot of traffic but have
manageable number of properties listed.
Location - Try and get listed on sites
that serve your area. You are far more
likely to get quality referrals on
popular sites for your location than on
general holiday home booking sites.
Alternatively, target your property
type; you could be an exclusive villa?
Track - install tracking code like
Google Analytics and monitor closely the
referrals and bookings you get from the
property listing sites. If the sites are
not generating bookings, do not renew
your subscription.
Link - make sure you get a link from any
sites you list with. Not only will this
directly funnel visitors to your
property booking site, it will improve
your own position in the search engines.
Pay - do not be put off if you have to
pay for a listing. A one year
subscription is more than likely only a
fraction of a week's holiday home
rental. But remember to follow the above
guidelines: don't go for a big listing
site, try to specialise either by area
or property type, or both.
Bookings - it is all about bookings!
Make sure you invest in quality reliable
booking software and that it is fully
integrated into your site. Having your
own booking system with availability
calendar is invaluable, the benefits are
too numerous to mention.
Brian Gates has been renting holiday
properties for himself and others for
over 15 years. He currently works for
Property Rental Software.

choosing-the-home-business-thats-right-for-you
Choosing the Home-Business That's Right
For You
Starting down a new career path can be
both exciting and terrifying. There are
a lot of tools on the market that can
help you determine what type of career
field you should enter. But what if your
chosen "career path" is being an
entrepreneur and running a home-based
business? Do the rules change? Below are
five questions to ask yourself to help
you determine what type of business
might be right for you.
1. What is your passion?
Answer this question with the first
thing that comes to mind: If money were
no object and you could do anything,
what would you do? You might have
answered "be a writer", "speak at
conferences," "bring my product idea to
life" or any number of things. Whatever
your answer, this most likely is your
passion. I challenge you to take the
time to ponder this and see if there is
a way to bring your dream to fruition.
2. What types of things did you like to
do as a child?
Many times the toys and games we loved
as children give us a glimpse into who
we have become as adults. If you loved
climbing trees, you may now be an
"outdoorsy" type of person. Think about
how this might be incorporated into your
business. For instance, you might enjoy
setting up outdoor birthday parties for
children or selling herbs from your
backyard garden.
3. What type of products would you be
interested in representing?
If you're looking in the direction of
direct sales, whether that be your own
product or an established home-based
business option, you need to think
through what types of products you'd be
comfortable presenting to your
customers. Take the time to do some
research and find a product that truly
excites you. Your customers will see
your sincerity and that can sell a
product just as easily as a fancy
presentation.
4. What skills and experience do you
bring to the table?
If you've left the corporate world in
favor of working at home, you've
undoubtedly brought with you a set of
skills. There may be a way to market
those skills in a new way and turn them
into a profitable business. For
instance, if you were an executive
assistant you may be able to type 80
words or more per minute. You could set
up shop as a Virtual Assistant and help
other business owners in processing
orders, transcribing documents and much
more.
5. Are you thinking outside of the box?
Most of us have a fear of the unknown.
We many times assume that if we haven't
done something before it is simply out
of reach. This carries over to the
business world as well. We take our
products or services and market them in
the same way that we see other business
owners using. However, it can be much
more effective to find new and
innovative ways to market. One
home-based business owner I know sells
stuffable toy kits. Instead of using the
usual home parties and birthday party
events, she works almost exclusively
with children's hospitals doing
fundraisers. She makes a great living
and helps not only the hospitals, but
the children as well. She is a great
example of unique marketing and
overcoming the mundane marketing methods
that so many business owners resign
themselves to.
Your home-based business should be
unique to you. It should make you want
to get up each morning excited about the
possibilities of the day ahead. Take the
time to thoroughly think through the
questions above and you'll be on your
way to making a great, well thought out
decision that has your name written all
over it!

5 Strengths of a Good Home Business
Leader
You just recruited your first person
into your work from home company. You?re
excited, she?s excited and you both want
to hit the streets running. Awesome!
But, how do you know if you?re a good
leader or not?
There are 5 strengths every good leader
possesses. If you don?t have these
strengths I strongly suggest you learn
them. Yes, leadership can be learned.
You don?t have to be a natural born
leader to be a good leader. As a matter
of fact, I know some natural born
leaders who aren?t good leaders at all.
(That brings up the question of whether
or not they are really leaders then. We
will leave that for another discussion
however.) I know, I know, get on to the
5 strengths already. Okay, here they are
and you need them to be a good IPC
Program leader.
A Good Leader is a Leader
I?ve heard the saying: ?If you?re
leading but no one is following, you are
just taking a walk.? That is so true.
Have you ever seen someone who is in a
leadership position but no one is
following them? I?m willing to bet you
have.
Even some of the best leaders are not
natural born. They?ve had to learn
certain skills and what it takes to be a
leader. You can do the same. When you
lead people in the IPC Program, you are
actually teaching them, standing by
their side and serving them. Yes, I said
serving them. They will grow because of
your example. This work from home
business is all about team work.
It?s like teaching your kids. You can?t
teach your son to do the dishes if you
don?t ever do them. You need to stand
with him the first few times and do the
dishes with him. Then when he is ready
to do it by himself, the dishes will be
all nice and clean, rinsed, dried and
put away properly.
The same applies when you are in a
leadership position in direct sales.
Show your recruits how to do it and then
do it with them. Next, help them when
they first step out on their own. Yes,
it takes time and energy, but there is
no place better to invest your time and
energy than in helping someone else.
Trust me. It will come back to your ten
fold. Your work from home business will
excel beyond your wildest dreams if you
take this approach.
A Good Leader is a Good Listener
A good leader isn?t one who thinks they
know everything or who acts like she
doesn?t have time to hear what her
recruits or clients have to say. A good
leader is one team members can go to
when they need help with something or
assistance in fixing a problem. With the
IPC Program and any work from home
business for that matter, learning is
part of the game. If you quit learning
you quit earning.
A good leader also knows what to listen
to and what not to listen to. As a
leader of the IPC Program, you should
not encourage gossip or negative talk
about another person. You don?t have the
time or energy to listen to someone who
is a constant whiner and complainer.
You?ll need some discernment and will
also need to know how to politely turn
away from this type of talk.
A Good Leader is Available
A good work from home leader will make
time for their recruits and clients.
Some leaders have a set schedule for
seeing recruits, but they also know
emergencies arise and don?t get
disgruntled when they do.
Set your own schedule, but be aware that
your recruits will need you at times
other than those you specifically set
every once in awhile. Open your door and
help them when they need it most.
A Good Leader is Organized and Knows How
to Prioritize
This is not only true in a work from
home business, but it is also true in a
leader?s personal life. You?ll need to
realize your family is most important
and how to balance family and business.
If you do not know how to organize and
prioritize your business and personal
life, don?t worry. There are tons of
materials out there that can help you
with this part. Look on the Internet or
in your local bookstore for starters.
A Good Leader Doesn?t Let Obstacles
Stand in the Way of Goals
In other words, you?ll need to know how
to overcome obstacles or work around
them. Also, don?t let negative people
stand in your way. You should know how
to block the negative and absorb the
positive. Believe me, when you are in a
work from home leadership position, you
will hear it all. Some of which you
don?t want to hear, but have to just
because you?re the leader. Filter out
the bad and keep the good. Don?t let
these obstacles stop you from reaching
your goals.

from home package and need a leader to

There is a ton of information available on leadership
qualities. Get some books, attend classes and learn from
someone who is a good leader in your personal life, like
your pastor, a teacher or sales director. Good leadership
can be learned, you just have to be willing to study it.
